i was a little worried when i purchased, based on some of the previous reviews. but i actually received this item the NEXT DAY after i purchased on-line, and i received it in fine condition. THE BOTTOM LINE: GREAT BUY FOR THE MONEY!!!!!

I got this freezer at my local Kroger believe it or not. It was on sale for $120 and they were running a deal if you bought $50 in Kroger-brand frozen items, they took another $50 off the price of the freezer. At first I was going to just pay the $120 for the freezer and call it a successful day, but then I decided $120 for the freezer AND food was a pretty sweet deal. I had to stash the food in a cooler until the freezer was ready, but it has been nice to have the added space. It is just my husband and I in the house, a bigger family would probably need a bigger unit. This is big enough to allow me to stock up on sale items and it is not so big that I forget what is in it. It sits in our basement, runs quietly and efficiently. It is towards the more efficient end, using 247 kWh/year (range from 185 to 357) which is $26.40 at 10.65 cents/kWh.

I bought this freezer at a local grocer who was running a special on the item. The freezer works great, I haven't had any issues with it in the 2 months I've had it so far. I would say if you have the opportunity to purchase it somewhere locally - where you don't have to deal with its shipping, you will be quite satisfied.

I got the same freezer at Walmart after reading reviews here. I did not want to risk shipping after reading about damage and dents in other reviews. My freezer came in perfect shape and runs great and is very quiet. It is just the right size for a single person or small family. Plenty of room for added storage. The only complaint would go along with the reviews that the freezer is poorly packed in it's box. Very little protection and I can see how it would easily get dented if shipped. I wonder if the manufacturer is aware of this problem? Otherwise, this is a great freezer for the price.

I ordered this freezer in February. Amazon initially shipped it by FedEx, and FedEx sent it back to them damaged. Amazon refunded me the shipping cost, and sent a new one.
The second one was also damaged in transit, though FedEx didn't catch it, and when I found out after removing it from the box, I couldn't send it back, because it's considered a hazardous material.
During shipping, the cord was sliced clean through. Amazon handled it wonderfully though, telling me to keep the freezer and do whatever with it, and giving me a full refund of my money.
I was actually able to replace the cord, and I've used it ever since. The wheels make it easy to move around if necessary, and it holds a good lot of food.
The picture is a bit deceptive, it's actually quite a bit wider than is shown in the image.
